Gourd "Art From the Vine"

Growing your canvas - what could be more challenging or open up so many doors for creativity? For many years Annie and Donna have begun their works of art with a literal seed. Each plant is an adventure and the final creation is the end of a year-long journey.

The collaboration from garden to gallery includes final works that incorporate techniques such as pyrography, metal leaf, weaving and carving. These are often enhanced with inks and dyes to bring out the natural variations in the shell of each gourd. Candles, vases, bowls and jewelry are typical of what you will find in their shop but each piece is atypical in its character and beauty.
